NEW ALBUM AND COMPILATION RELEASES
Plastic City Radio Show - Season Three, hosted by Gorge
After the successful Season 2, Gorge is also responsible for the outstanding Plastic City Radio Show Season 3. Gorge aka Pit Waldmann expired electronic music in the late 80’s. He grew up with the sound of Thorsten Fenslau and Alexander Abraham and began to produce his own music in the middle of the 90’s. Taking a trip through all kinds of electronic music he finally came back to house and techno music influenced by deep Chicago house sound and Tech-House. The co-founder of 8bit Records (founded together with Nick Curly in 2005) is producing electronic music since the middle of the nineties and convinced with great releases on Freerange, 8Bit and Plastic City. Furthermore he surprised the DJs, listeners and the worldwide press with his brilliant debut album "Mood" a view month ago on his label 8Bit. On Season 3, he tastefully combined exclusive new tracks from artists like Tojami Sessions, Terry Lee Brown Junior, Cosmic Cowboys & Echonmist, Solan, Strict Border, Bas Amro, Junior Gee, Sasch BBC & Caspar, Tomoki Tamura and - of course - one of his tracks. Further on it is to mention that since 13th of August 2008, Plastic City started the weekly "Plastic City Radio Show" on "Radio Ibiza Sonica", presented by Contact Booking (www.contact-booking.de) and TrackTracker (www.tracktracker.com). "Radio Ibiza Sonica" is broadcasting since summer 2006 on 95.2 FM to Ibiza and Formentera and across the world from its www.ibizasonica.com. Every Wednesday (10 - 11 pm) and Saturday (8 - 9 pm), Gorge plays the deepest and hottest Tech-House tunes on the island. Since January 2010 you can now also listen to the Plastic City Radio Show every Saturday (10 - 11 pm) on the German based web radio station "Sceen FM" (www.sceen.fm). Turn on the radio! Available Formats: CD, mp3.
Greg Parker - 10 Solutions
Actually, it was long overdue: The first own album of Greg Parker, who has always had his home at Plastic City. Everything begun with his friendship to Terry Lee Brown Junior, who brought him to produce own tracks. At this time, Greg Parker was already a local hero in and around Darmstadt and inspired his followers with intense and deep Tech-house sets. In 2006 he co-produced the Terry Lee Brown Junior track "I Feel Lost" which was released on Terry's Album "Karambolage". Since then, the tracks by Greg Parker get an enormous popularity. Be it on vinyl (2009 with the great "All The Good Things EP" and the three digital EP's "Dreams", "Drop Out" and "Understanding" on the sub-label Plastic City. Play), on compilations such as "Plastic City Radio Show, Season Two","Terry's Café" or "Zurich Session" or as a remixer for Terry Lee Brown Junior, The Timewriter, nor elle, Smalltown Collective or modified Tojami Sessions. Greg Parker also experimented very successfully with Terry Lee Brown Junior in the fields of electronica, dub, lounge and as the remix team "Elephants And Lollipops" (for example for the track "Alex Flatner feat. Lopazz - Perfect Circles" on Circle Music). At the latest it should be clear here: The creative output is based on a source of inspirational creativity. Available Formats: CD, mp3; Video: 10 Solutions.
Paris Session, mixed by DJ Yellow
The next electronic City Guide takes us into the magic spirit from Paris. Each compilation from the new "City Session" series shows us a place which is known for its vibrant nightlife. In the case of the second episode, Plastic City has decided to take a look at the French capital Paris, compiled by the French DJ Yellow. Because of his brilliant album "Ending Of Time", which was released in autumn 2009, and because of he is one of the leading DJs and producers in France for years, he is the perfect choice. DJ Yellow purchased his first slabs of vinyl at the tender age of 13, in the year of 1979. With a pair of turntables that he acquired from his older brother, the sounds of James Brown, Barry White and more obscure contemporaries inspired him to pursue his dream to become a DJ, his chance to rise from a life in poverty in the Parisian ghetto. When he met Bob Sinclar in the early 90's during a night out, things took a turn. As young Alain was not satisfied with local fame alone, they jointly set out to explore new means to bring the music he loved so much to a larger audience. With this philosophy in mind, they started their label Yellow Productions in 1993, to critical acclaim. An underground label at first, it was perhaps Yellow's search for personality and his ear for quality that opened the door to a colourful palette of signings, that included artists as diverse as Dimitri From Paris, Kid Loco, Bang Bang, Joe Claussell, Salome de Bahia and of course Bob Sinclar himself, all of which have helped to shape the French sound, as it is today. Available Formats: CD, mp3.
The Timewriter - Tiefenschön
Being the sixth album from Jean F. Cochois aka The Timewriter, this latest one is a fresh surprise in many ways. First and foremost, he has chosen the German title Tiefenschön, which could be translated as 'beautiful depth', but really it is a more poetic way of saying that in the German language. Secondly, he has positioned himself in an altogether different way on a musical basis but still continues in his unmistakeable Timewriter style, and once again proves as a producer his fine feeling for sound and musical arrangement. After a long musical journey beginning in 1994 with his first single and subsequent albums, he now melts together his continuously developing sound with the sound of the good old days. The results are deep and tech house tracks which have a warm old school twist and flavour to them at the same time as totally hitting the zeitgeist. "Tiefenschön" as an album is a complete whirlwind having a raw and dirty feel to it, albeit without losing focus on the original and well-known Jean F. Cochois sound. This is an extremely strong club album with a powerful recognition value – not only musically, but also visually thanks to its album cover. Emotionally loaded with this pleasant kind of pain that just hurts in the right places. Not only as a producer and remixer, but also as DJ, The Timewriter enjoys the respect he receives internationally since the last 15 Years. He held a residency in Sven Väth’s Cocoon Club and plays in Clubs all across the globe. On a regular basis he presents his own mix-CD series “Deep Train” of which Vol. 6 was voted Album of the Month in Mix Mag UK. Available Formats: CD, 2LP, mp3; DJ Feedbacks: Tiefenschön.
NEW SINGLE RELEASES
Nikola Gala - Luv Khord
The cosmopolite Nikola Gala has been producing for the past 10 years and received big attention during the years 2004-2005 by the music industry for the release of the track "Swing 2 Harmony" along with the "Perasma" band. At the same time he produced some well respected tracks which found home on labels like Deep Records, Intrinsic, Fokused, Sprout Music, Precinct, Renaissance, Lost Language Audio Therapy and now also on Plastic City. Till now he has been an open minded producer to all types of electronic music, listening to his tracks mixed in Electro/Tech-House or Progressive Trance sets it's not unusual. Born, raised and still lives in Thessaloniki/Greece, Nikola is one of the most sought after producers from Greece at the moment, he is quite busy working on new ideas in most of his time at his personal studio. Nikola as a dj left his music mark on many spots around the globe like Stockholm, Cologne, Jakarta, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Kiev just to name a few. His freestyle approach is responsible for mixing tracks from a wide range of quality electronic dance music. During the year 2006 he started running his own digital label "Escada Music" which have gained much support from music fans and dj's around the world, an upcoming label that has much to show in the future. In 2007 he released his debut single "System" (together with DJ I-Kie) on Plastic City. With his release "Luv Khord" he shows us again his talent in choosing the right beats with emotional melodies. Available Formats: 12", mp3.
Greg Parker - Get High
After his latest three digital releases on Plastic City. Play and the outstanding “All Good Things EP” on vinyl last year, Greg Parker just published his first album “10 Solutions” in spring 2010 on Plastic City. It contains already a dub version of the final track “Get High”. Therefore now here comes the release of the original version with remixes by Terry Lee Brown Junior and Voltan. You will be surprised how energetic and powerful the original version will infiltrate your veins. With “Get High” Greg Parker created a very funky and stomping tech house track that developes enormously during its 9:44 minutes runtime. Beats and basses are changing constantly it seems. Percussions seem to accrue but stay diaphanous magically the hole time. The vocals unfurl an absolutely hypnotic effect. Terry Lee Brown Junior who had already two releases on Plastic City. Play (“Electric Avenue”) and Plastic City (re-release of “Bad House Music” released 1995 at first) in 2010, takes all the energy of the original and calms it down. A bit dark but very relaxed his bleak bassline is contrasted by light chords in the background. A really great remix with an enormous drive. Voltan makes it a bit more melancholic. Straight and strait beats combined with very thin highs are building the surrounding for vocals and this dubby atmosphere. His remix concentrates on the more emotional characteristics of the original track. A bit bigger room here, a bit other vocal work there and a bit more melody in the foreground. This remix is a really good transformation of all the energy of the original. Available Formats: 12", mp3.
Bucher & Kessidis - Fate
Next strike of Plastic City in early 2010 is the new single of Bucher & Kessidis. With their fresh style between Chicaco House, Disco, Funk and Detroit Techno they convinced The Timewriter to make a remix of his 'Night Over Sundyberg' (appeared on the Resensed Part 2 compilation) and the track 'La Onda' appeared on the 'Plastic City Radio Show Part 2' mixed and compiled by Gorge. The two digital releases 'Time' and 'The Dark Night EP' on Plastic City. Play convinced with emotional deepness and a wide colourful sound so that The Timewriter remixed their track 'The Space In Between'. Now we have the first vinyl release on Plastic City with two strong remixes from SIS and Daniel Sinco. The original version of 'Fate' is a rhythmically strong and very groovy monster of a house track. Fluffy percussions and beats are building a strong base for the bright and heavenly chords flanked by soulful vocals and vocal snippets. With 'Fate' Bucher & Kessidis, who started working together in early 2006 and had releases on labels like Raum...Musik, Separé and Dessous so far, show their ability to create deep and funky tech house tunes for the prime time. Berlin based achiever SIS made a very deep interpretation of 'Fate'. Creating a bigger room with less intense percussions like the original uses, the chords sound more synthetic and less organic. Available Formats: 12", mp3.
DJ Yellow presents Mindz Kontrol Ultra - No Way You Can Sleep
His releases and remixes (e.g. for "Nacho Marco - Estefania" on Plastic City last year) can be found on labels like Saw Recordings, Ovum, Slip'n'Slide, ProgCity Deep Trax. His tracks also appear on many mix compilations like "Fabric 38", "On the Nippon Road" (Terminal M) and the Plastic City compilation "Imagination Of The Shape". On the new album DJ Yellow fuses characteristics of deep, funky and tech-house by using tender basses and well dosed percussion lines, paired with some real e-bass parts one feels remembered to the album "Paradise" from Bob Sinclar (which Alain assisted to). But these little elements can only be seen as little quotes to the roots. All in all the album, which was produced together with Portuguese producer Tiago Fragateiro (aka Hi-Tech²), provides a clever mixture of deep and funkyness. Using dark and promising spoken words from time to time the record takes a mystic narrative mindset at the very beginning. What follows is an emulsion of warm arrangements with a strong and well balanced base that aims directly to the dancefloor. Compared with the very playful album "Intermission" which he created together with Astrid Suryanto in 2008, this is a very grounded complement of his artificial work. Available Formats: 12", mp3.
NEW MP3 EP RELEASES
Babak Shayan - Snake In The Grass
Born in Teheran (Iran) in 1973, Babak came to Germany due to the effects of the Iran-Iraq war in 1985. His love to music started in the early days of his childhood with artists such as Depeche Mode, Yello, New Order. But thanks to his new residence, the music that was avantgarde then became accessible for him. He went into heavy music collecting, making it possible to experience the concept of DJing just one year later: beginning in 1986, he spread mixtapes among his schoolmates and was soon a requested DJ for an audience that was much more older than he himself. He played in clubs where he would not have been allowed to enter because of his age. Consequently, his love for music lead him on the way to creating music. In 1998, he got the gear to get some tracks done and after gaining some experience in that field, Babak had his first release on the Plastic City. His first "Dualists" productions found their way into the cases of many DJs and many compilations and propelled him to the top of Germany's Tech-House scene. In 2003 Babak moved to Cologne and founded his own label Shayan Music which has established itself as a modern music company that offers a broad spectrum of services. Besides all of his projects and music-making Babak plays as DJ at international festivals and clubs regularly. Finally in 2009, he released his first own artist album which he called "My Life". The single "Snake in The Grass" is taken from this brilliant album. Available Format: mp3.
Strict Border - Body Cure
Canadian-based Strict Border (Amirali Shahrestani and Iman Habibi) were drawn together by their shared passion and love for electronic music. Music and nightlife inspired both of them from early on. They have built a reputation as hottest upcoming techno and house artists. The pair dived to the forefront of dance music in February 2009 and has achieved extensive recognition in fewer than three months since they joined forces in Tehran. Sadly the guys had to part ways shortly after meeting in Tehran as Iman currently lives in Tehran and Amirali had to go back to Toronto. Although working from different continents with a time difference of eight hours and a half was hard at times, the duo saw it as a worthy challenge. Rather than back down at times when WAV files took up to an hour to upload with slow internet connections in Iran, the guys approached the challenge with tremendous interest and felt more and more confident with each step they took. Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and many other web sites are filtered by the government of Iran, making it hard for someone in the music industry and in constant need of the internet to keep up and move on. Despite strict laws and the threat of government censorship, Strict Border with the help of anti-filters and proxies to access the web world were able to work together and produce music. Since they formed in February 2009, the duo believed that there is something special about them. Their first release got quite recognition and was played by Steve Lawler on BBC Radio 1. Other supports in the business include artists such as Marco Carola, Christian Smith, Luciano, Nic Fanciulli, Gorge, Okain, Carl Cox, Nima Gorji, Carlo Lio, Wally Lopez, Mike Monday and many more. Available Format: mp3.
Lukas Greenberg - Down The Drain
After his successful debut on Plastic City in 2007 with his first two EPs "What A day" and "Behind Doors" and the following album "Rhode´Stories", Nikolas Jakoby a.k.a. Lukas Greenberg definitely is one of the most liked "new habitant" in the city. He started his career in the early 90ies as a hip hop dj and played at famous venues like the tresor, 90Grad and KitCat. Quite a lot residencies and years of dance floor experience brought him to own productions which he started on an Atari Mega 2. He founded his label “Synphon Records” and received remix requests from Peter Schilling and Budai & Vic amongst others. With his albums “Rhode´Stories” and "Prisoner With A Key", Lukas Greenberg verify his sense for high quality listening stuff. He rolls out his musical range while connecting all tracks like writing a book and rides on a wave of downbeat, electro, house, easy listening and some more ingredients which make you feel comfortable about listening to the albums again and again. On the new EP "Down The Drain" you can find 3 new tracks and one Greenster Remix. Available Format: mp3.
Wollion - Daddy's Cadillac
Wollion himself describes his unique style of mixing as deepdirtyhousemusic, shaping the sound of modern deeper vibes and house music. In 2005 Wollion had his start-up with the label BluFin Records. He made his first experience in producing a single named "Inside of you" followed by his blockbuster track "Monster" including a massive Tigerskin Remix, released on BluFin. The track has been played by DJs such as Funk d' Void, Karotte or Monika Kruse and showed up on numerous DJ top-playlists. He was invited to play sessions at John Acquaviva's "Acquaholic Partys" at Privilege Club in Ibiza many times in a row. In 2008, his production collaboration with Sandrino & Adrian, aka Lemon Popsicle have witnessed amazing international success, with remixes and productions on the world's finest Deep House and Tech labels like Moodmusic, Yellow Tail, Dieb Audio, Rebirth, Brown Eyed Boyz, BluFin, ALiVE, Sprout, Night Drive Music or Two Faces. Recent projects have included remixes for YELLO, Darko Esser, D-Nox & Beckers, Sharam Jay and Sebastian Davidson. Available Format: mp3.

"Imagination Of The Shape" is the slogan of the current release period. The future of the label is the past and present. Or the present is the future. It depends how you look at it. Plastic City has always meant development. We will stay true our policy of releasing but quality tracks which can be heard and played in years to come. Maybe the next area will also be known in the history of Plastic City as "Imagination Of The Shape".

Jean F. Cochois talks about "Tiefenschön"
The sixth album from The Timewriter is a complete whirlwind having a raw and dirty feel to it, albeit without losing focus on the original and well-known Jean F. Cochois sound. J. Axel Audio Interview
In autumn 2009 J. Axel comes around with his second album “Start Receiving” and the additional remix EP "Keep Receiving" follows in summer 2010. His passion for the Deep House genre started in the middle of the nineties. Jonathan started Djing and producing his own music and met Johan Bacto, who later founded the PlackTown Sound imprint. After releasing also a mini album on Chris Grays label Deep4Life he layed his focus on vocals in combination with the deep character of his music while producing and releasing instrumental house tracks beside under his early alias Ronin (on Driftwood). At this time he met Sumatra born vocalist Astrid Suryanto, who worked with Victor Calderone, John Digweed or The Prodigy's Neil McLellan so far. On this album Astrid features three songs. But one more female voice supports a track on the album: the voice of Stockholm based Zemya Hamilton. Zemya Hamilton releases singles and albums since 1989 on labels like Sonet Grammofon, WEA, EastWest or Warner, where she published her album “Trollbunden” in 1993. She gave her voice to a lot of dance tracks and produces songs with her band Zemya Hamilton and the Cozmic Energy. “Start Receiving” is an extraordinary Deep House album. Through the strait structures of the arrangements the voices of both vocalists are able to breathe while the romantic and melancholic synthesizer combinations create a wide and strong background for the melodies they create. Between Lounge and Deep House Jonathan turns every stone and discovers little dimensions he explores with his synthesizers. “Start Receiving” is a really big album that hits heart, body and soul directly. Plastic City Play. Play. Play
Plastic City is reinventing itself by playfully dreaming up alternative realities – again and again, one after the other. Time for a resumee: The play of words with "Plastic City" and "Play", which originally was merely a name of a compilation concept in 2006, get its inherent autonomy. Without any previously construction plan the town has grown again and retroactive we can ascertain, that Plastic City got a new suburb (Kat#: play). A lot of new interesting faces romp around there: Greek Nikola Gala and Frenchman El Farouki, the Swiss artist Da Funk, the Hungarians Budai & Vic, Berlin based Lukas Greenberg, Adam Jace from Australia as well as Lincoln Six Echo from Poland. All of them started to release on "Plastic City. Play" and if you heard some of their releases you know, that this is the next generation of young fresh and hungry artists. And like throughout in a city the new arrivals and the known habitants mix each other very fast and build something innovative. The compilation "Plastic City Play. Play. Play" is a summary of artists and tracks from this new sublabel, will show this growth. On top of this, you can find some new track which were never released on Plastic City before. Available Format: mp3.
