With his first album “Rhode Stories” Lukas Greenberg received a lot of attention and convinced the critics (e.g. “Rhode Stories” was record of the month in Raveline). The mixture of house, easy listening, electro and downbeat combined with soulful vocals and spoken words opened a new chapter of relaxed and at the same time still deep sound on Plastic City. The tracks from Lukas Greenberg are solid, emotional and straight with a touch of naturalism. For his second album “Prisoner With A Key” Lukas Greenberg improves that concept from his first album “Rhode Stories”: Spreading out his facilities in combining and creating sounds, he wrotes chapters for his new "book of sounds". Lukas Greenberg worked together again with the singer and electronic musician Karl Jenkins aka Ideophonic from Great Britain, who was also part of the “Rhode Stories” production process before. Furthermore he engaged the vocalist Nica Brooke, who is working on her new album at the moment together with Grammy Award winner Don Mizell. The result is a great combination of warm, bright and tight tracks which we inclined to call album art. “Prisoner With A Key” is also a real masterpiece on account of metamorphosing jazz, funk and soul elements into a new and electronic surrounding. "Prisoner In A Club" is a remix album from “Prisoner With A Key” with brand new versions for the party people around the word. Available Format: mp3
DJ Yellow presents Mindz Kontrol Ultra - Ending Of Time
Alain Ho aka DJ Yellow is one of the electronic music artists who established himself as one of the forward thinking artists in general. In the eighties DJ Yellow pushed forward French hip hop and he also had big influence on what French house music is today. With his label Yellow Productions (founded 1993 with his mate Bob Sinclar) he released artists like Salome De Bahia, Dimitri From Paris, Joe Clausell, Bang Bang and Kid Loco. With his second imprint Poussez Music (founded in 2003) he created an outlet for his own sounds. Thus here he started his projects Alienation, Intermission and Paule with which he experimented on different fields of electronic music. His releases and remixes (e.g. for "Nacho Marco - Estefania" on Plastic City this year) can be found on labels like Saw Recordings, Ovum, Slip'n'Slide, ProgCity Deep Trax. His tracks also appear on many mix compilations like "Fabric 38", "On the Nippon Road" (Terminal M) and the Plastic City compilation "Imagination Of The Shape". On the new album DJ Yellow fuses characteristics of deep, funky and tech-house by using tender basses and well dosed percussion lines, paired with some real e-bass parts one feels remembered to the album "Paradise" from Bob Sinclar (which Alain assisted to). But these little elements can only be seen as little quotes to the roots. All in all the album, which was produced together with Portuguese producer Tiago Fragateiro (aka Hi-Tech˛), provides a clever mixture of deep and funkyness. Using dark and promising spoken words from time to time the record takes a mystic narrative mindset at the very beginning. What follows is an emulsion of warm arrangements with a strong and well balanced base that aims directly to the dancefloor. Compared with the very playful album "Intermission" which he created together with Astrid Suryanto in 2008, this is a very grounded complement of his artificial work. Available Formats: CD, mp3.
Conception Of The Shape, mixed by Greg Parker
In 2007 'Evil' Eddie Richards formed the "Imagination Of The Shape". Now, two years later, it is Greg Parker who proclaims the next step with a mix of the current label spectrum. The ideas the imagination contained seem to materialize out of the matrix of ones and zeros. The annulment of physical bodies is finished and a new composition of shapes arises from the phase in which information transcended the limits of mechanical structures. It is time for getting more concrete in what we do and how we will do it. For this it is important to have a conception to rebuild the city (again). After the 'Age Of Search And Destruction' (1996-1998) the city was 'Reconstructed' (1998-2002) but there were no clear forms, no clean structures. The ideas and the stream of thoughts were bubbling. So there was no gain but the constant conversion, the search, the try. So it was the 'Maybe.Plastic City' (2003-2006). Then the streams of thoughts was concentrating on a new form, a structure that could hold the architecture: 'The Imagination Of Shape' (2006 till now). Within the last two years while the digitalization of the world proceeded in a breathless and inexorable speed, the city assimilated every breath, every action, emotion and word in its surrounding, transformed it, gave sense to the mass of inspiration and decided to give an example of deceleration by publishing the fruits of the creative work of its population. Driving, spheric, melodic, positive, with the feet on the ground – this is the process, this could be the conception of the shape and who knows what the next step of development means... Maybe a new age in the near future? For this habitant Greg Parker, who was big with the 'All Good Things EP' and mixed the 'Deep Meltdown' compilation, compiled a very delicious selection of the current labels spectrum. Tracks by Mr. Cenzo, Terry Lee Brown Junior, Nacho Marco, Costa Nosido, The Timewriter, Roberto Rodriguez, Stryke and other will take all the rotten feelings and lift them up into the sky. And what is fascinating: It will ground you through action. The future is now. The future is Plastic City! Available Formats: CD, mp3, mp3 (Extended Edition).
J. Axel - Start Receiving
Last year Sweden born producer and DJ Jonathan Axelsson aka J. Axel convinced on Plastic City with the singles “This Time” and “Love Letters” (produced together with Astrid Suryanto). Now he comes around with his second album “Start Receiving”. His passion for the Deep House genre started in the middle of the nineties. Jonathan started Djing and producing his own music and met Johan Bacto, who later founded the PlackTown Sound imprint. The productions that were released on PlackTown Sound caused a huge feedback from radio stations, magazines, Djs and television. After releasing a mini album on Chris Grays label Deep4Life he layed his focus on vocals in combination with the deep character of his music while producing and releasing instrumental house tracks beside under his early alias Ronin (on Driftwood). At this time he met Sumatra born vocalist Astrid Suryanto, who worked with Victor Calderone, John Digweed or The Prodigy's Neil McLellan so far. They started working together and Statra Records released their first production “You Give Me (Love)”. On this album Astrid features three songs. But one more female voice supports a track on the album: the voice of Stockholm based Zemya Hamilton. Zemya Hamilton releases singles and albums since 1989 on labels like Sonet Grammofon, WEA, EastWest or Warner, where she published her album “Trollbunden” in 1993. “Start Receiving” is an extraordinary Deep House album. Through the strait structures of the arrangements the voices of both vocalists are able to breathe while the romantic and melancholic synthesizer combinations create a wide and strong background for the melodies they create. In the instrumental tracks Jonathan Axelsson aka J. Axel draws fields of emotional colours that are opening like huge blossoms. “Start Receiving” is a really big album that hits heart, body and soul directly. Available Formats: CD, mp3.

With his 'Catfood' track he set a special highlight in Kriss Dior's playlist of 'Plastic City Radio Show'. No it's time for him to enter Plastic City. With this nine minute monster Sasch BBC matches perfectly up with the Plastic City sound characteristics. Warm and laid-back organ chords go along with sexy tribal percussions and interconnected rhythm structures. It's dry, sexy and functional. With 'Flanke' Sasch BBC goes the more techy way. The reduced arrangement has its focus on the percussions, the beats and bass. Only a funny trumpet sample lights up the seriousness of the arrangement. Whereby the rhythmic baubles stay in the center. Available Formats: 12", mp3.

Terry Lee Brown Junior - Electric Avenue
Because of all his passion Terry Lee Brown Junior is investing into his music, it is no surprise at all, that he has been considered as a member of the international elite of house producers for years. Like no other, he has developed the subgenre Tech-House. In the USA and England, his albums became successes of note and the media got a surprise when they found out, Terry Lee Brown Junior is actually a German. Terry Lee Brown Junior, alias Norman Feller, began DJing in 1989 and soon thereafter released his first tracks on vinyl under various pseudonyms. 1994 was the turning point for Norman when he decided to dedicate himself totally to music. In the following year he invented the house-oriented project (alter-ego) Terry Lee Brown Junior which allowed him to create his own sound. Plastic City, which was at that time still a very young label, offered Terry an outlet for his music and he has stayed true to this label ever since. He released with Brother For Real (1996), Chocolade Chords (1997), From Dub Til Dawn (2000), Karambolage (2006) and Softpack (2008) five albums which are all proving again and again, that he has the skills and the talent to combine the various and exciting blends of contemporary House music, giving the tracks a clubby or progressive attitude and never losing the emotional aspect. Bucher & Kessidis - Time
In 1993 a good friend of Tom Bucher sparked his interest in electronic music. Tom began with DJ performances, playing Techno & Trance. Later on, he also played House, which is still his favorite style of music. In 1999 he started to produce electronic music with two friends. In 1999, they released there first vinyl under the project name „Tojami Sessions“ on the label “In Between Entertaiment“, followed by releases for „Separe“, „Raum …Musik“ and „Dessous Rec.“ Christos Kessidis fell in love with electronic music in the mid 90´s and was especially amazed with the New York Deep-House sound. He started to concentrate on his skills as a DJ in a young age. Through the years he established his own sound and style. His DJ sets always varied. This is especially true for his energetic and emotionally sets that manage to get everybody in the perfect mood. He has released tracks on labels like Exun Records, 8 Bit and Aenaria Music. Tom Bucher and Christos Kessidis met and started working together in the spring of 2006 and immediately started a prolific partnership based on their shared music styles (which fuse elements of Chicago House, Disco, 80's Soul, Jazz-Funk and Detroit- Techno) and their common experiences with the DJ circuit. In recent years they've developed and created a powerful and original style of House-Music, ranging from Deep House to Tech-House, Dub and on to groovier tracks, but always with an emotional touch which creates a special intensity in their music. After their debut on Plastic City with the "The Dark Knight EP" in 2009, they come back in 2010 with three brand new and deep tech-house tunes. Available Format: mp3.

Stryke Audio Interview Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Stryke began his music career at an early age. He started playing classical piano at the age of four. Moving to Miami, Florida (where he still resides) when he was ten, Stryke became heavily involved in early electronic alternative scene. At age 14, the young Stryke had already begun DJing to make money to buy more synth equipment. But after discovering this new underground dance music, he became as passionate about DJing as he was about making music. Says Stryke of the two, "Both production and DJing have really become one in the same for me. I really can't separate the two. He's considered to be one of the top DJs around today. His globetrotting schedule and growing legions of fans is proof positive of his ability to command dancefloors worldwide. In 2004, he was asked to be the official DJ for the MTV VMAs. Balancing work between the studio and the road hasn't been easy. But Stryke wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm truly blessed to be able to do what I love. The work, the stress, and the hardship is all worth it at the end of the day." Stryke is quickly becoming one of the hardest working man in electronic music. Listen...Communicate...Understand. He is honoured to now be an official family member of the Plastic City family. Look for his full length album "The Narrowest of Paths". Link: Stryke Audio Interview.
Plastic City Play. Play. Play Plastic City is reinventing itself by playfully dreaming up alternative realities – again and again, one after the other. Time for a resumee: The play of words with "Plastic City" and "Play", which originally was merely a name of a compilation concept in 2006, get its inherent autonomy. Without any previously construction plan the town has grown again and retroactive we can ascertain, that Plastic City got a new suburb (Kat#: play). A lot of new interesting faces romp around there: Greek Nikola Gala and Frenchman El Farouki, the Swiss artist Da Funk, the Hungarians Budai & Vic, Berlin based Lukas Greenberg, Adam Jace from Australia as well as Lincoln Six Echo from Poland. All of them started to release on "Plastic City. Play" and if you heard some of their releases you know, that this is the next generation of young fresh and hungry artists. And like throughout in a city the new arrivals and the known habitants mix each other very fast and build something innovative. The compilation "Plastic City Play. Play. Play" is a summary of artists and tracks from this new sublabel, will show this growth. On top of this, you can find some new track which were never released on Plastic City before.
